Mount Rainier Recreational Forecast

.SYNOPSIS...Expect gusty winds, heavy rain and snow, and rising
snow levels across Mount Rainier National Park Saturday and
Sunday with an atmospheric river in place over the region.
Another strong system arrives Monday and Tuesday, with lowering
snow levels and heavy rain and snow Tuesday. Mild and drier
conditions develop across the park Wednesday, with some showers
and more seasonable conditions Thursday and Friday.

.IMPACTS...Stormy weather will create difficult backcountry
skiing and mountaineering conditions through the weekend across
much of the alpine terrain of Mt. Rainier, including the Muir
snowfield. Blizzard-like conditions with strong winds and near
zero visibility are likely. A high level of skill and experience
in alpine terrain, including use of GPS, is recommended for
navigation and camping in these conditions.

.SATURDAY...Rain and snow likely in the morning, then rain and
snow in the afternoon. Snow accumulation near Paradise up to
1 inch. Snow level rising to 7000 feet.
.SATURDAY NIGHT...Rain and snow. Rain may be heavy at times. No
snow accumulation near Paradise. Snow level near 8000 feet.
.SUNDAY...Rain and snow. Rain may be heavy at times. Snow level
near 7000 feet.
.SUNDAY NIGHT...Rain and snow in the evening, then rain and snow
likely after midnight. Moderate snow accumulations. Snow level
near 6000 feet decreasing to 4500 feet after midnight.
.MONDAY...Rain and snow likely in the morning, then rain and snow
in the afternoon. Moderate snow accumulations. Snow level near
5000 feet.
