210 SXUS46 KSEW 221228 RECSEW Mount Rainier Recreational Forecast National Weather Service Seattle WA 428 AM PST Sat Feb 22 2025 .SYNOPSIS...Expect gusty winds, heavy rain and snow, and rising snow levels across Mount Rainier National Park Saturday and Sunday with an atmospheric river in place over the region. Another strong system arrives Monday and Tuesday, with lowering snow levels and heavy rain and snow Tuesday. Mild and drier conditions develop across the park Wednesday, with some showers and more seasonable conditions Thursday and Friday. && .IMPACTS...Stormy weather will create difficult backcountry skiing and mountaineering conditions through the weekend across much of the alpine terrain of Mt. Rainier, including the Muir snowfield. Blizzard-like conditions with strong winds and near zero visibility are likely. A high level of skill and experience in alpine terrain, including use of GPS, is recommended for navigation and camping in these conditions. && .SATURDAY...Rain and snow likely in the morning, then rain and snow in the afternoon.
