Mount Rainier Recreational Forecast

.SYNOPSIS...Another disturbance approaches late Friday. Expect
gusty winds, heavy rain and snow, and rising snow levels across
Mount Rainier National Park Saturday and Sunday. Another strong
system arrives Monday and Tuesday. Warm and drier conditions
develop across the park toward midweek.

.IMPACTS...Stormy weather will create difficult backcountry
skiing and mountaineering conditions Saturday and Sunday across
much of the alpine terrain of Mt. Rainier, including the Muir
snowfield. Blizzard-like conditions with strong winds and near
zero visibility are likely. A high level of skill and experience
in alpine terrain, including use of GPS, is recommended for
navigation and camping in these conditions.

.FRIDAY...Mostly cloudy in the morning, then a slight chance of
rain and snow in the late morning and early afternoon. Mostly
cloudy with rain and snow likely late in the afternoon. Snow
accumulation near Paradise up to 1 inch. Snow level near
5000 feet.
.FRIDAY NIGHT...Rain and snow. Snow may be heavy at times in the
evening. Snow accumulation near Paradise of 2 to 7 inches. Total
snow accumulation near Paradise 2 to 8 inches. Snow level near
5500 feet.
.SATURDAY...Rain and snow. Little or no snow accumulation near
Paradise. Snow level near 6500 feet.
.SATURDAY NIGHT...Rain and snow. Rain may be heavy at times in
the evening. Snow level near 7500 feet.
.SUNDAY...Breezy. Rain and snow. Snow level near 7000 feet.
