Mount Rainier Recreational Forecast

.SYNOPSIS...An upper-low looks to churn off the PNW coast through
the start of next week with active weather. A strengthening
surface low (not as intense as Tuesday`s) will brush across the
region today with widespread precipitation and gusty winds.
Conditions look to settle towards the middle of next week as
guidance hints at the return higher heights.

.IMPACTS...Stormy weather will create difficult backcountry
skiing and mountaineering conditions across much of the alpine
terrain of Mt. Rainier, including the Muir snowfield. Blizzard-
like conditions with strong winds and near zero visibility are
likely. A high level of skill and experience in alpine terrain,
including use of GPS, is recommended for navigation and camping in
these conditions.

rain and snow in the afternoon. Snow accumulation near Paradise
of 1 to 3 inches. Snow level near 7000 feet decreasing to
5500 feet in the afternoon.

snow in the afternoon. Snow accumulation near Paradise of 1 to

.SUNDAY...Rain and snow likely in the morning, then rain and snow
in the afternoon. Moderate snow accumulations. Snow level near
