...SCATTERED PRECIP NEAR THE CA/OR BORDER TODAY INTO THURSDAY...
...COOLER TEMPERATURES WARMING INTO NEXT WEEK...

.METEOROLOGICAL CONDITIONS (WED AM - TUE AM)...

The s/wv trof in the vicinity of Vancouver Island yesterday at this
time has drifted southward and is beginning to settle over northern
CA. Radar imagery indicates an area of scattered showers currently
rotating on the downstream side of this feature moving northward
from eastern Siskiyou and Modoc counties into southern OR. Over the
past 6-hours ending at 16/13Z...gauge data indicates scattered light
amounts in this area mainly near or less than 0.10-inch.

This area of low pressure is expected to spin over northern CA for
the next 24 to 36 hours bringing scattered showers and t-storms
primarily to the upper Klamath River basin and the higher terrain of
far northern CA. Overall...totals should remain near or less than
0.33-inch with the best totals falling across the upper Klamath
River basin. Along with the scattered precip...cooler-than-normal
temperatures are anticipated to impact much of the region over the
next couple days...except for northeast NV. Anomalies will run 5- to
15-degF below seasonal normals.

To end the week...this area of low pressure will slowly make its way
to the east-northeast before exiting the area on Saturday. A few
showers may remain over far northern and eastern NV on Friday as the
system passes overhead. Temperatures will also start to rebound and
shift above normal for much of the area by the end of the weekend as
a transitory upr ridge shifts inland. Then for Monday into Tuesday a
weak area of low pressure will traverse the region with a slight
chance of showers over the southern Sierra and parts of NV on
Monday.
