386 FNUS71 KRNK 221002 FWSRNK Spot Forecast for Brushy Mtn...FS National Weather Service Blacksburg VA 602 AM EDT Tue Apr 22 2025 Forecast is based on forecast start time of 0700 EDT on April 22. If conditions become unrepresentative, contact the National Weather Service. .DISCUSSION... Winds today will predominantly be out of the west/northwest, with little to no variation in wind direction expected today. Winds do look to remain rather light at around 5 mph, with gusts up to 10-15 mph, with most gusts likely being on the lower end of that threshold. Rain showers early this morning are expected to diminish throughout the mid morning hours as the frontal boundary finally pushes far enough south that enough dry air will have pushed into the region. Minimum RH values are expected to drop to around 34% by this afternoon at the peak of boundary layer mixing. The westerly winds today may aid in pushing the fire uphill along the face of the mountain where the burn is located. Overall, outside of the early morning rain chances, there are no other concerns at this time. .REST OF TODAY... Sky/weather.........Partly sunny (65-75 percent). CWR (0.01 in).......10 percent.
