...FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY FOR ENTIRE AREA...

The National Weather Service in Blacksburg has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Tazewell County in southwestern Virginia...

* Until 800 AM EST Sunday.

* At 1019 PM EST, Emergency management reported extensive flash
  flooding across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of rain
  have fallen. Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional
  rainfall is expected. Flash flooding is ongoing.

  This is a FLASH FLOOD EMERGENCY for Entire area. This is a
  PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK HIGHER GROUND NOW!

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Heavy rain producing
           flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Emergency management reported.

  IMPACT...This is a PARTICULARLY DANGEROUS SITUATION. SEEK
           HIGHER GROUND NOW! Life threatening flash flooding of
           low water crossings, small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Richlands...                       Bluefield...
  Tazewell...                        Cedar Bluff...
  Burkes Garden...                   Pocahontas...
  Cliffield...

This includes the following streams and drainages...
  Burkes Garden Creek, Big Creek, Clinch River, Blue Spring Creek,
  Beech Fork and Bluestone River.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to higher ground now! This is an extremely dangerous and
life-threatening situation. Do not attempt to travel unless you are
fleeing an area subject to flooding or under an evacuation order.

Rivers will continue to rise overnight.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

When it is safe to do so, please send your reports of flooding,
including mudslides or flooded roads, to the National Weather
Service by calling toll free at 1...8 6 6...2 1 5...4 3 2 4. Reports
