...EXTREME HEAT WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 8 PM EDT THIS
EVENING...
...HEAT ADVISORY REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM TO 8 PM EDT FRIDAY...

* WHAT...For the Extreme Heat Warning, dangerously hot conditions
  with heat index values up to 105. For the Heat Advisory, heat
  index values up to 102 expected.

* WHERE...Portions of northeast Kentucky, southeast Ohio, and much
  of the lowlands of West Virginia.

* WHEN...For the Extreme Heat Warning, until 8 PM EDT this evening.
  For the Heat Advisory, from 8 AM to 8 PM EDT Friday.

* IMPACTS...Heat related illnesses increase significantly during
  extreme heat and high humidity events.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...This could be a prolonged heat wave, with
  warm, muggy nights providing little relief. Impacts of heat could
  accumulate over time.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of
the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. Young children and
pets should never be left unattended in vehicles under any
circumstances.

To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and
Health Administration recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in
shaded or air conditioned environments. Anyone overcome by heat
should be moved to a cool and shaded location. Heat stroke is an
emergency! Call 9 1 1.
