.DISCUSSION...

A cold front has just crossed the area this morning, which means
there will be a shift in wind direction from south-southwest to
west-southwest by 2 PM. Winds will be sustained at 6-12 mph with
occasional gusts up to 20 mph today. Winds will become west-northwesterly
by 11 PM tonight, which will continue throughout Monday and into Monday
night sustained at 6-12 mph with occasional gusts up to 20 mph.

In addition, conditions are currently dry. However, rain showers
can occur anytime today, with the chances ranging from 20 to 40 percent.
These showers will be brief and intermittent in nature today. Rain
chances will then increase to 70 percent or greater by 7 PM this evening.
Rain showers will likely mix with, and eventually transition to snow by
11 PM tonight. These snow showers will continue through daybreak Monday
morning.

Between 7 AM and 11 AM, a break in the snow shower activity is expected
with chances of precipitation only 20 to 40 percent. Then, snow
shower activity will pick up again by 12 PM Monday, continuing through
the afternoon and into the evening. Snow showers will finally end Tuesday
morning with total snowfall accumulation anywhere from 3 to 6 inches from
tonight through Tuesday morning.

Temperatures will be in the middle 50s today, dropping into the upper 30s
by 8 PM, and dropping below 32 degrees by 2 AM. Temperatures will then
remain below freezing all day Tuesday and into Tuesday night. Wind chill
values will drop into the 20s by 11 PM tonight and into the teens by 6 AM
Monday. Wind chills will remain in the upper teens and lower 20s all day
Monday, and will drop into the single digits by 3 AM Tuesday morning.
