.DISCUSSION...
Chilly but drier as high pressure builds over the area today into
Friday. Temperatures will moderate during the weekend, with many
locations outside of the mountains rising above freezing during the
daytime. This will cause a lot of our remaining snow and river ice
to melt away across the lower elevations.
A system is expected to bring mainly rain to the area late Saturday
into Sunday, with a wintry mix possible for the higher elevations of
the northeast mountains. Highest rain amounts are expected to occur
in southwest VA and southeast WV. Some flooding could be possible in
that area due to a combination of rain and earlier snowmelt.
