Showers and thunderstorms continue to sweep through the area this
evening as a surface cold front migrates toward the area. A few
storms could be on the stronger side with gusty winds and heavy
downpours being possible.
Storms will also suppress the heat somewhat on Thursday, though it
will remain humid. Showers and storms will become more widely
scattered and diurnally driven in nature Thursday and Friday, while
also becoming more increasingly confined to the mountains.
Upper-level ridging this weekend will bring a lull in the diurnally
driven thunderstorms, especially on Sunday, while also allowing the
heat to build.
