...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 845 AM EDT THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall and runoff is
  expected.

* WHERE...A portion of southern West Virginia, including the
  following county, Lincoln.

* WHEN...Until 845 AM EDT Monday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Streams
  continue to rise due to excess runoff from earlier rainfall.
  Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not be
  passable.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 243 AM EDT, gauge reports indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the warned area. Between 1 and 4 inches of rain
    have fallen and rivers and streams will continue to rise this
    morning.
  - Flooding impacts will continue, but no additional rainfall is
    expected.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Hamlin and Sweetland.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll
free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.
