...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 815 AM EDT SATURDAY...

* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall
  continues.

* WHERE...Portions of southeast Ohio, including the following
  counties, Athens, Gallia, Jackson and Meigs and West Virginia,
  including the following counties, Cabell, Jackson, Mason and
  Putnam.

* WHEN...Until 815 AM EDT Saturday.

* IMPACTS...Flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying
  and flood-prone locations is imminent or occurring. Numerous roads
  remain closed due to flooding. Streams continue to rise due to
  excess runoff from earlier rainfall.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 844 AM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
    shortly in the warned area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain
    have fallen.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Point Pleasant, Gallipolis, Ripley, Winfield, Pomeroy, Rio
    Grande, Racine, Coolville, Rutland, Forked Run State Park,
    Hurricane, Ravenswood, Milton, New Haven, Eleanor, Buffalo,
    Mason, Tuppers Plains, Teays Valley and Culloden.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.

Report flooding to the National Weather Service by calling toll
free, 800 401 9535, when you can do so safely.
