In northern West Virginia, Barbour, Doddridge, Harrison, Lewis and Upshur. In southern West Virginia, Kanawha and Lincoln. * WHEN...Through Sunday morning. * IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected through the weekend, as a front waffles back and forth over the middle Ohio Valley. The current forecast indicates amounts of 2 to 3 inches may fall by Sunday. In addition, mainstem river flooding may eventually develop over the weekend and early next week. This would include the Hocking River, Muskingum River, Little Sandy River, and eventually the Ohio River. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Rounds of showers and thunderstorms are expected through the weekend, as a front waffles back and forth over the middle Ohio Valley. The current total rainfall forecast indicates amounts to 3 inches across western West Virginia. Rainfall totals of 4 to 5 inches with locally higher amounts are forecasted across northeast Kentucky and southeast Ohio where the potential for significant flooding exists.
