...AIR QUALITY ALERT IN EFFECT UNTIL MIDNIGHT EST SATURDAY NIGHT...

The West Virginia Department of Environmental Protection has issued a
code ORANGE air quality advisory for particulate matter due to
regional wildfire smoke for southern West Virginia through Saturday,
November 9, 2024. Changing weather conditions may impact these values
over the course of the next couple of days.

A code ORANGE air quality advisory means that air pollution
concentrations within the region may become unhealthy for sensitive
groups. Sensitive groups include children, the elderly, and people
suffering from asthma, heart disease, or other lung diseases. The
effects of air pollution can be minimized by avoiding outdoor
exercise or strenuous activity. Check AirNow.gov for current air
monitor readings.
