with very hot temperatures building this weekend and through
next week. Monitoring possible dangerous heat index values by
middle of the week.

.DISCUSSION...
KEY MESSAGE 1...

Stout dome of high pressure will build over the southern states
this weekend, eventually moving overhead Tuesday through
Thursday. This ridge pattern and bubble of high pressure will
keep the area mostly dry for the next few days, save for an
isolated thunderstorm chance across the mountains Sunday
afternoon and maybe Monday evening with shortwave disturbances.

The main feature for the next several days will be the
increasing heat and humidity. High temperatures across the
lowlands today and Sunday will be in the mid 80s to lower 90s.
These temperatures will increase next week with guidance
suggesting Tuesday through Thursday will have areas of the
lowlands reaching the mid to upper 90s. Dew points in the upper
60s and lower 70s will create dangerous heat index values in the
upper 90s and lower 100s. Will have to monitor these trends for
potential heat advisory issuance mid week.
