An Atmospheric River event brought significant snow to western
Wyoming beginning Friday evening (1/31). Snow continued through
Sunday night (2/2) and ended Monday morning (2/3). Over the 3 day
period, snowfall accumulations of 2 to 4 feet were observed across
portions of southwest Yellowstone, the Tetons, and Absaroka
Mountains. Moisture also poured over to the east slopes of the
Absaroka Mountains, resulting in snowfall amounts of 6 to 12 or more
inches across portions of the Cody Foothills Sunday night into
Monday morning. Below is a listing of snowfall amounts from across
the region from this 3-day event.
