.DISCUSSION...
A cold front roughly along the Continental Divide will allow for
minimum relative humidity values to be much higher than yesterday
(Monday). Light south to southeasterly terrain driven winds increase
from the northeast (more upslope) between 1200L and 1400L. Frequent
gusts around 20 mph are anticipated from 1400L to 2300L. Once clouds
begin to clear out around 1400L, the atmosphere will quickly become
much more unstable with mixing heights above 6000 ft AGL. Mixing and
smoke dispersal will be good to very good between 1400L and 1800L.
Winds become terrain driven again around 0300L and 0400L Wednesday
morning. Excellent relative humidity recovery is forecast overnight
with higher minimum relative humidity values on Wednesday. Shower
and thunderstorm chances on Wednesday once again.
Shower and thunderstorm chances increase after 1500L and continue
through 2300L. Thunderstorms could become strong to severe with the
main hazards being strong gusty winds around 60 mph, large hail, and
frequent lightning. Additionally, any nearby showers or thunderstorms
could create gusty outflows with varying wind directions.
