Critical fire weather across most of the area today. Valley RHs will
be around 15 percent, with around 20 percent for much of the higher
elevations. Afternoon west-southwest winds increase, with widespread
gusts of 25 mph or greater. For the higher elevations, gusts 35 mph
or greater will be common. Showers and thunderstorms are also
possible this afternoon and evening, and will be capable of
producing localized gusts in excess of 40 mph. The chance of wetting
rain in near zero.
