...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT ALPINE...EL DORADO...PLACER...
AND DOUGLAS COUNTIES AND WESTERN CARSON CITY THROUGH 730 PM PDT...

At 656 PM PDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Emerald Bay, or near South Lake Tahoe, moving east at 20 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
South Lake Tahoe, Bliss State Park, Meyers, Glenbrook, Zephyr Cove,
Emerald Bay, Sugar Pine Point S, Zephyr Cove-Round Hill Village,
Homewood, South Lake Tahoe Airport, Stateline, Meeks Bay, Fallen Leaf
Campground, Meeks Bay Campground, and Luther Pass.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
