Near record heat will continue through Saturday with Heat Advisories
in effect this weekend for portions of NE CA an NW NV. Thunderstorm
chances return this afternoon mainly south of I-80, with isolated dry
lightning strikes possible outside of storm cores. Thunderstorm
coverage will increase this weekend and continue through much of next
week. Storms will trend wetter through the weekend and into early
next week with increased risk for heavy rain and potential flash
flooding.
