...THUNDERSTORMS WITH VERY HEAVY RAINFALL WILL IMPACT STANLY
COUNTY THROUGH 1215 AM EDT...

At 1043 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall near Plyler to near
Albemarle, moving east at 10 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 40 mph. Rainfall rates of 1.5 to 2 inches
         per hour.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Albemarle, Badin Lake, Plyler, Fairview In Union County, Locust,
Norwood, Badin, Oakboro, Stanfield, and Mount Gilead.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Very heavy rain can be expected due to the slow movement of this
storm. Prolonged heavy rain will result in ponding of water on
roadways, standing water in low lying areas, and minor flooding of
creeks and streams. Drivers are urged to slow down and use extra
caution to avoid hydroplaning.

To report severe weather, contact your nearest law enforcement
agency. They will relay your report to the National Weather Service
office in Raleigh.
