...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT WAYNE...NORTHWESTERN SAMPSON...
HARNETT...NORTHWESTERN CUMBERLAND...SOUTHERN WAKE...WILSON AND
JOHNSTON COUNTIES THROUGH 1030 PM EDT...

At 925 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking clusters of strong
thunderstorms from near Lillington to Smithfield to near Wilson,
moving east at 35 mph.

HAZARD...Frequent lightning, very heavy rain, and wind gusts up to
         40 mph.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include...
Goldsboro, Smithfield, Lillington, Fort Bragg, Wilson, Garner,
Fuquay-Varina, Clayton, Dunn, and Angier.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM EDT for
central North Carolina.
