...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 845 PM EDT THIS EVENING...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Western Wake county.

* WHEN...Until 845 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is
  imminent. This includes along Interstate 40 between Durham and
  Garner.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 531 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
    flooding.
  - This storm is capable of producing an inch or more of rain
    over a very short period of time.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Raleigh, Durham, Cary, Garner, Fuquay-Varina, RDU
    International, Apex, Holly Springs, Morrisville, Lake
    Wheeler, William B Umstead State Park, New Hill, Carpenter,
    and Research Triangle.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles. If driving, use caution and slow down to
avoid hydroplaning.
