The National Weather Service in Raleigh has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Central Wake County in central North Carolina...

* Until 215 AM EDT.

* At 1109 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Up to 2 inches of rain have
  fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are possible in
  the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
  shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Raleigh, Cary, Garner, RDU International, Apex, Morrisville,
  Knightdale, William B Umstead State Park and Carpenter.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
  Walnut Creek, Big Branch, Beaver Creek, Southwest Prong Beaverdam
  Creek, Swift Creek, Crabtree Creek, Hare Snipe Creek, Reedy Creek,
  Harris Creek, Long Branch, Honeycutt Creek, Kit Creek, Lynn
  Branch, Perry Creek, Lower Barton Creek, Pigeon House Branch,
  Rocky Branch, Neuse River, Bachelor Branch, Brier Creek, Northeast
  Creek, Turkey Creek, Beaverdam Creek, Speight Branch, Marks Creek,
  Coles Branch, Jack Branch and Middle Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
