The Flood Watch is cancelled for a portion of central North Carolina, including the following areas, Alamance, Anson, Chatham, Cumberland, Davidson, Durham, Edgecombe, Forsyth, Franklin, Granville, Guilford, Halifax, Harnett, Hoke, Johnston, Lee, Montgomery, Moore, Nash, Orange, Person, Randolph, Richmond, Sampson, Scotland, Stanly, Vance, Wake, Warren, Wayne and Wilson. Some lingering showers and a few thunderstorms will spread across northern areas including the northern Coastal Plain, the northern Piedmont including the Triangle area, and the Triad this morning but the widespread heavy rain has ended. Many creeks and streams are beginning to fall and the flood threat has ended. Some low lying areas may still have lingering water this morning. In addition, creeks and streams will run high and fast today. Please be cautious near bodies of water. $$ Blaes
