Synopsis for the E Pacific within 250 nm of Mexico
819 AM PDT Thu Oct 9 2025

.SYNOPSIS...Tropical Storm Priscilla is near 23.8N 114.7W at 8 AM PDT, and
is moving north-northwest at 7 kt. Maximum sustained winds are 40
kt with gusts to 50 kt, and the minimum central pressure is 996
mb. Priscilla will move to 24.8N 115.1W this evening, then weaken
as a post-tropical cyclone near 25.9N 115.3W by Fri morning. The
remnant low of Priscilla will move off Punta Eugenia near 26.7N
115.2W Fri evening, then continue to the northeast to 27.3N
114.8W Sat morning, before dissipating Sat evening. Farther
south, newly formed Tropical Depression Seventeen-E is off the
coast of Guerrero near 16.2N 100.8W at 8 AM PDT, and is moving
west- northwest at 12 kt. Maximum sustained winds are 30 kt with
gusts to 40 kt, and the minimum central pressure is 1004 mb.
Seventeen-E will strengthen to a tropical storm near 16.8N 102.6W
this evening, then move to 18.1N 105.1W Fri morning, 19.8N
107.8W Fri evening, and 21.4N 109.9W Sat morning. Seventeen-E
will weaken to a tropical depression off Los Cabos near 23.3N
111.0W Sat evening, then continue to 25.5N 111.2W Sun morning.
Seventeen-E will become a remnant low as it moves across Baja
California Sur and into the southern Gulf of California by early
Mon. Also Post- Tropical Cyclone Octave is south of Socorro
Island near 17.7N 110.5W at 8 AM PDT, and is moving east-
northeast at 15 kt. Maximum sustained winds are 30 kt with gusts
to 40 kt, and the minimum central pressure is 1006 mb. Octave
will dissipate this evening as it moves to the southeast of
Socorro Island. Conditions may finally improve over the offshore
waters early next week once all three systems pass or dissipate.
