Survey Summary: During the mid afternoon hours of August 27th,
2026, a cluster of thunderstorms would develop across the Wet
Mountains, and slowly drift to the southeast. One of the
thunderstorms that developed along the western flanks of the Wet
Mountains would go on to produce a quick and short-lived tornado.
This tornado developed around the intersection of County Road 328
and County Road 356. Based on a report from emergency management,
this tornado was only briefly in contact with the ground. Given
where the tornado developed, and the brief nature of it, the
tornado caused no damage to any surrounding trees or structures.
Given no known damage, this tornado will be rated EF-Unknown
(EF-U).Radar data, video on social media, and the information from
emergency management were used to make a best estimate for start
and end locations and times.
