One or two strong to severe thunderstorms will be possible across the far eastern plains by mid-afternoon, along and east of a line from La Junta to Kim. These stronger storms will be capable of producing up to one inch diameter hail and 60 mph wind gusts. Elevated fire danger is forecast across the San Luis Valley this afternoon, as well as the valley floors of Chaffee, Fremont and Custer counties, due to increasing winds and continued dry conditions. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Sunday through Friday Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will develop over the mountains on Sunday, with the best chance for a storm along the Continental Divide. Gusty winds to 50 mph, lightning and small hail will be the main storm threats. Local snow accumulations of 1 to 3 inches will be possible over the higher peaks, especially above 12000 feet. Scattered to numerous showers and thunderstorms are expected across the area from Monday into Monday night, before precipitation tapers off Tuesday morning. Again, gusty winds to 50 mph, lightning and small hail will be the main storm threats, with some snow possible above 12000 feet. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
