This hazardous weather outlook is for portions of central...east
central...south central and southeast Colorado.

.DAY ONE...Today and Tonight

Gusty west to southwest winds of 25 to 50 mph can be expected across
the region today, as a Pacific weather system moves across the
Rockies. The strongest winds are expected across the southern
mountains and the San Luis Valley, where there could be some patchy
blowing dust this afternoon. The passing system will also bring
scattered showers to the Continental Divide this afternoon and
evening, with some light snow accumulations possible, mainly across
the higher peaks of Central mountains north of Cottonwood Pass.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Thursday through Tuesday

Meteorological critical fire weather conditions are expected over
portions of the area each afternoon through Sunday. Highest chances
for critical conditions will be over the San Luis Valley, as well as
gap flow areas along I-25, through Saturday. On Sunday, winds
increase over the plains and will spread critical conditions east.
However, fuels at this time appear too green to warrant any
highlights, based on recent heavy rainfall.

Afternoon and evening showers, with a few thunderstorms, will be
possible each afternoon through Saturday. Best chances will be over
the Central Mountains, with lightning, small hail, and gusty outflow
winds as the main impact concerns.

An incoming low pressure system is expected to bring wetter and more
unsettled weather to the higher terrain, starting late Sunday and
moving into next week. As of now, the plains appear to stay hot,
generally dry, and windy through at least Monday while the peaks
of the Central Mountains see increased chances of precipitation.

.SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...

Weather conditions that meet reporting criteria for spotters will
be possible over portions of the region.
