Snowfall accumulations 6 to 12 inches will be widespread over the region, with some 2 feet amounts expected. The heaviest snow will fall over the east slopes of the Wet and Sangre De Cristo mountains, and over the Raton Mesa. Winds of 20 to 30 mph this afternoon and evening will cause blowing snow over most areas. Several major roadways across southeast Colorado are already closed, and Colorado Department of Transportation has stated that these roads will likely not open until sometime Saturday. Over the interior mountains and valleys, snowfall will be less, but areas of 3 to 6 inch amounts will be possible. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday Snow showers continue over taper off over portions of the eastern mountains, the plains, and the Pikes Peak region throughout the early morning hours. Light accumulations are expected, with most areas seeing snowfall coming to an end by around 8 am at the latest. Teller County, the Palmer Divide, and the central mountains, will have the highest chances of seeing snow continue into the later morning hours, though travel impacts are not expected. For Sunday onwards, expected continued below normal temperatures, with more chances for snow over the high country on Tuesday and Wednesday. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT...
