Total snow amounts across the central and southwest mountains through tonight are forecast to be 2 to 4 inches. Snow will spread to the eastern mountains by early Tuesday morning, but snow totals there initially will be light. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Tuesday through Sunday Snow will begin by later in the afternoon over the higher terrain on Tuesday and continue to increase in intensity going into the overnight hours through Wednesday. Heavy new snow accumulations are expected, with 2 feet, or locally more, expected within portions of the Sawatch Range and eastern San Juan Mountains through Thursday morning. Some of these showers could make their way over into the adjacent valleys and plains on Tuesday, although the better chance of snow, or a rain and snow mix, over the plains will be on Wednesday. Highest anticipated snowfall amounts through Thursday morning for the plains range from 2 to 3 inches for the Colorado Springs area, to around 4 to 6 inches for the Palmer Divide area. Light snow on Thanksgiving morning will continue to taper off with clearing skies, although it will be cold and wind chill values in the single digits over El Paso County will make it feel even colder during the early morning hours. Below average temperatures will continue to be in place through the following weekend. Some light snow will be possible over the Continental Divide beginning Friday afternoon through midday Saturday. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Weather conditions that meet reporting criteria for spotters will be possible over portions of the region. $$ EHR/STEWARD
