.DISCUSSION...

Upper level system slowly tracks across the state today, bringing
gusty north winds and 3 to 6 inches of new snow through the day
and overnight. Improved conditions are anticipated for Saturday as
the upper system splits, with one piece dropping southwest towards
Mexico, and the other piece continuing to the east-northeast
towards the Great lakes. This will leave Colorado with lighter
winds, decreasing cloudiness and temps climbing above freezing by
the afternoon.
