.DISCUSSION...A weak disturbance within the modest southwest
flow aloft will help to develop isolated to scattered showers
and thunderstorms across the region this afternoon and evening.
Showers and any storms across the Pikes Peak region will be
higher based, producing gusty outflow winds up to 45 mph and
brief rainfall, while storms further east across the far
southeast Plains may be strong to severe, with large hail to
around 1 inch in diameter and damaging winds to around 60 mph
possible. Passing wave sends a backdoor front across Eastern
Colorado tonight, with increased low level moisture leading to
better coverage of showers and thunderstorms across the burn site
Thursday afternoon and evening, with a few of these storms possibly
strong to severe.
