.Discussion...
Increased wind low humidity values each day over the next 7 days
will support critical fire weather conditions, especially within
the San Luis Valley and gap flow prone areas. However, green-up
has commenced across much of the district and fuels at this point
are not receptive to carrying fire. As dry and windy conditions
persist, fuels will need to be monitored closely. There is a
slight chance for shower activity across the higher terrain each
day, with the best chances coming on Sunday and Monday as a large
upper low system sweeps across the region. At this time, much of
the eastern plains will likely remain dry over the next 7 days.
Surface-based inversions will break early today, between 0800 and
0900, with ventilation rates improving to Excellent for much of
the district today by 1200 and lasting until 2000. Smoke
dispersion trends are forecast to be similar for Friday.
