.Discussion...
Updated to increase winds along the lee slopes of the Eastern Mountain
ranges late tonight into Wednesday morning. Also raised high temperatures
across the Plains for tomorrow.
A disturbance will cross the mountains on Wednesday spreading
gusty winds and low humidity across the southern portions of the
southeast plains. Given drying fuels, per land management fuels
website, have hoisted a Red Flag Warning for areas south of highway
50. It is possible that further expansion to the north may be
required depending on the strength of winds as details become more
certain. Otherwise, some light snow will continue across the central
mountains, though accumulations will remain spotty and light.
A parade of disturbances will bring a roller coaster of temperatures
to the region through the end of the work week with a cold front
wavering in and out of the southeast plains every other day. Light
snow will continue off and on across the central mountains. Colder
temperatures and a better chance of snow will spread across the region
for the weekend into early next week.
Afternoon dispersions will rise into the very good to excellent
categories across most of southern CO on Wednesday due to strong gusty
winds. Cooler temperatures on Thursday will lead to fair to good
dispersions across most of the area.
