.Discussion...
No fire weather concerns across the district the next several
days, as the weather pattern shifts toward cooler and wetter
conditions. A cold front passing through the district this evening
will bring scattered showers and thunderstorms to many locations
through midnight, with a few showers lingering on the plains into
Saturday morning. Persistent northwest flow with embedded waves will
then lead to daily showers and thunderstorms from Saturday
into next Friday, with the greatest chance for wetting rainfall and
local flash flooding from Sunday into Tuesday. Temperatures over the
weekend will fall back toward seasonal averages, with a period of well
below average readings for much of next week.
Afternoon smoke dispersion will stay mainly in the fair to good
category, as mixing heights fall due to increased cloud cover
and precipitation.
