.Discussion...
Wetter conditions are forecast across the area starting today and
lasting through Saturday, with snow for the mountains, and both
rain and snow for the eastern plains. A warming/drying trend then
starts Sunday and continues into early next week.
Moderate instability is forecast across the area today as an
upper disturbance crosses the state, then more stable conditions
are expected tomorrow.
Surface-based inversions will begin to break today between 0900
and 1000. Ventilation rates are forecast to improve to Very Good
to Excellent for the southern portions of the district by 1200,
while the northern sections will only improve to Good. The cut-off
for the better smoke dispersion will roughly be along and south
of Highway 50, and favorable ventilation will last until 1900.
More restricted smoke dispersion is forecast for Friday.
