...A Red Flag Warning has been issued for much of the southeast
plains from noon to 8 PM MDT Thursday...
.Discussion...
Warm and dry conditions will continue across the district today,
leading to spotty critical fire weather conditions for portions of
the eastern plains this afternoon. Very windy and warm weather
returns for Thursday, with widespread Red Flag conditions expected
for much of the plains, along and east of I-25. A strong weather
system will then sweep across the region late Thursday through
Friday, bringing a good chance of rain and snow to many locations.
Lingering showers and cooler conditions expected on Saturday,
then dry and warmer weather returns for Sunday and Monday.
Surface-based inversions will begin to break today between 1000
and 1100, with ventilation rates improving to Very Good to
Excellent for most locations this afternoon between 1200 and 1900.
Similar smoke dispersion trends and timing is forecast for
Thursday.
