.Discussion...
No critical fire weather conditions are expected over the next 7
days.
Plan on one more cooler day across the district today, with isolated
to scattered afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms
developing once again. The focus areas will be the eastern
mountains, the I-25 Corridor and the southern border.
A warming trend starts Tuesday as high pressure starts to build back
in, with above normal temps expected Wednesday and into the weekend.
Afternoon and evening convection will be mainly tied to the higher
terrain each afternoon and evening, but by Thursday indications are
that monsoon moisture will move back in, increasing precipitation
chances for the mountains.
Surface-based inversions will break between 0900 and 1000 this
morning, with ventilation rates improving to Good to Very Good
across the higher terrain, and remaining Fair across the plains by
1300 and last through 1900. Slightly improved smoke dispersion is
anticipated for Tuesday.
