.Discussion...
No critical fire weather conditions are expected over the next 7
days. The plume of monsoon moisture will remain in place over the
region today, with showers and thunderstorms expected this
afternoon/evening across the higher terrain. Pockets of heavy
rainfall will be possible, and vulnerable areas will need to be
monitored for flash flooding risks. Meanwhile, some isolated to
scattered showers/storms will be possible over the eastern plains,
mainly over the Palmer Divide.
The mountains will dry out this weekend, with the shower and storm
chances shifting east for a few days. Sunday may see the chance for
some strong to marginally severe thunderstorms in the evening. The
monsoon plume returns next week, bringing cooler and wetter
conditions across the region.
Smoke dispersions will be poor to fair across the mountains this
afternoon, and mostly fair to good over the plains. Conditions
reverse on Saturday, with poor rates over the plains and good or
better dispersions over the mountains.
