.Discussion...
We will be a bit breezy today, especially over the high country,
through our gap flows, and over our far eastern plains. Gusts of
25 to 30 mph mph will be possible. At this time, humidity values
look to stay in the mid teens or higher through the majority of
the day. Very spotty and brief elevated fire weather conditions
may be possible through our gap flow in Huerfano County, and also
over Baca County, but conditions are not expected to be widespread
or long-lived enough to warrant any headlines.
Weaker winds are expected for Wednesday and Thursday, with a pattern
change arriving sometime Friday into Saturday. Depending on the
timing and track of this next system, we may see some critical fire
weather conditions on Friday, especially on our plains. Chances for
precipitation are increasing through the weekend..
Afternoon smoke dispersions will be generally fair or better today,
with the exception of the San Luis Valley, where poor rates are
likely. Rates will be mostly poor over the San Luis Valley and the I-
25 corridor tomorrow, with fair and good rates likely elsewhere.
