A significant winter storm will continue to impact the region today, then slowly decrease tonight. Heavy snow, with additional totals of over a foot, are expected over the greater Raton Mesa region and over the southern mountains. Additional accumulating snow is likely over the remainder of the region. The only area which may see only rain with this system will be along the immediate Colorado and Kansas border. Temperatures today into tomorrow will be well below normal for this time of the year. From Sunday through the remainder of the week it is expected to be mainly dry, with temperatures remaining slightly below normal.
