.Discussion...
Critical fire weather conditions are not expected over the next 7
days. One more day of moist southwest flow aloft will bring
widespread showers and thunderstorms to the district on Friday,
with still some pockets of locally heavy rainfall possible. Storms
over the mountains become more scattered on Saturday as moisture
decreases, with dry conditions over the majority of the high
terrain on Sunday. On the plains, thunderstorm chances increase
Saturday night and Sunday as a cold front drops south through the
region. Moisture will return to all the district early next week,
with at least scattered showers and storms expected Monday through
Wednesday. Temperatures will cool slightly on Sunday, then remain
at or slightly below seasonal averages from Monday into Wednesday.
Afternoon smoke dispersion will stay poor to fair over the
mountains on Friday, with good or better levels across the plains.
On Saturday, good or better dispersion returns to most of the
high terrain, with the plains stay mainly fair to good.
