...A Red Flag Warning is in effect for portions of the area from
10 AM until 6 PM Today...
.Discussion...
Gusty west winds will continue across the district into this
evening, with the Red Flag expiring for our southern plains at
6pm. A few light snow showers will be possible over the peaks of
the Central Mountains later this evening into tonight, with minor
accumulations.
A series of disturbances will move into the region Thursday into
Saturday, bringing up and down temperatures and more gusty winds
to much of the district. Some spotty near-critical fire weather
conditions will be possible Thursday afternoon over the southern
plains, but winds and RH are not consistent enough to warrant any
highlights. Critical fire weather conditions will also be possible
Friday afternoon over the southern I-25 corridor.
Colder conditions will return to the district starting on Sunday,
lasting into next week. Snow chances will increase as we move
into the work week.
Smoke dispersions will be poor across the district tonight. For
Thursday, dispersions will be very good or better over the higher
terrain through late afternoon, then dropping back to fair to
poor. For the plains, dispersions will be poor to fair, decreasing
to poor in the late afternoon across the district.
