.Discussion...
Isolated showers and thunderstorms are expected across the far
eastern plains this evening, with one or two storms possibly
becoming severe with damaging wind gusts and one inch diameter hail.
A cold front dropping south across the plains tonight will usher in
cooler air overnight and into Friday, with spotty frost possible
across Fire Zone 226 tonight.
Dry and milder conditions are forecast across the district through
the extended period, with a potential widespread frost for the
eastern plains Sunday morning. Another cold front late Monday will
drop temperatures across the region significantly for Tuesday.
Surface-based inversions will break between 1000 and 1100 Friday
morning, with Fair to Good ventilation rates forecast for most
locations between 1400 and 1800. Much improved smoke dispersion is
forecast for Saturday.
