.Discussion...
Drier conditions are expected to persist through today and early
Monday. However, moisture is expected to increase each day
allowing for minimum RH values to hold around the low to mid 20s.
This increase in moisture is likely to bring better chances of
afternoon and evening thunderstorm development across the
continental divide, which does bring concerns of lightning related
starts and localized flash flooding on present burn scars.
Regardless, temperatures are expected to be on the rise with
Sunday and Monday still trending to be our hottest days this week.
Moving into Monday afternoon and evening does see a weak cold
front push across the entire district, which will be our signal
for a more active and cooler pattern to begin for the area. Shower
and thunderstorm chances will be increasing each day beyond
Monday with Tuesday and early Thursday currently drawing best
chances across the district. These increase chances may see heavy
rainfall occur, especially along the mountains and plains
interface resulting in increasing concerns for flash flooding over
present burn scars.
As for smoke dispersion this weekend, current expectations
continue to see poor conditions during the morning hours before
improving to great by the early afternoon. Conditions look to hold
at this status through the later evening before returning to poor
during the overnight time frame.
