.Discussion...
Moist southwest flow aloft will continue bring rounds of showers
and thunderstorms across the higher terrain through Thursday, with
the heaviest rains expected across the Continential Divide, especially
orographically enhanced eastern San Juans mountains and Upper Rio
Grande valley, where a Flash Flood Watch is in effect through Thursday.
Flow aloft becomes westerly Friday and and into the weekend, with
with better chances for storms spreading across the eastern mountains
and Plains. Temperatures through the weekend will be around to slightly
below seasonal levels.
Potentially warmer and drier conditions develop into the middle of
next week, under developing upper level ridging across the Rockies.
Afternoon smoke dispersion will stay poor to fair across the district
today. On Thursday, dispersion over the mountains will be fair to
good, with pockets of very good to excellent over the plains.
