.Discussion...
A cold front pushed through the region Thursday night, ushering in a
few days of cooler temperatures and much needed moisture. Much of
the area is under some sort of winter weather headline, especially
over the high country. All areas are expected to see at least 0.2
inches or so of liquid equivalent over the next couple of days, with
much higher amounts over our Sangres, Wets, and San Juans possible.
Precipitation comes to an end from west to east through Sunday
morning, with near normal temperatures and mild conditions returns
for the rest of the day on Sunday. Warming and drying is expected
early in the week, though critical fire weather does not appear
likely at this time. Thunderstorms will be possible mid to late week
on the plains.
Afternoon smoke rates will vary greatly across the district today,
from poor over the Pikes Peak region to excellent over the SLV.
Please see specific zone forecasts below for more details. Rates are
mostly poor on Saturday.
