.Discussion...
No meteorological fire weather concerns across the district for the
next several days.
A cold front will move in from the north this evening and into the
overnight hours, bringing a few showers and storms to the district
into the early morning hours on Wednesday. Wednesday afternoon,
showers and thunderstorms are expected over most of the district.
Localized heavy rain and flash flooding will be possible over burn
scar areas, with the chance for hail and strong wind gusts over the
eastern plains as well.
Temperatures increase through the end of the week, hitting low
triple digits over the far eastern plains, while daily chances for
showers and storms will continue, mainly over the higher terrain.
Some isolated convection may still be possible over the plains.
For next week, a better monsoon plume is forecast to move over the
district, It will become a bit cooler and there will a much better
chance of rain over the district during this time period.
Smoke dispersions will be good or better across the district the
rest of today, and poor overnight. For Wednesday, dispersions will
be good over the central mountains and San Luis Valley, and poor to
fair over the rest of the district.
