During the week of June 9th, the NWRFC will be undertaking a required upgrade to our operational computer systems. All operations will be transferred to our national backup hosted at the National Water Center in Tuscaloosa, AL. Unfortunately, the backup system does not provide full functionality and only a subset of our product suite will be available through the upgrade period.

The NWRFC web page will be available during the upgrade and every effort will be made to populate it using products generated on the backup system.

NWRFC river forecasts will be available on our webpage as well as through the National Water Prediction System.

Summary of products that we anticipate will be updated during the upgrade:

         Deterministic 10-day river forecasts

-- Also available through the National Water Prediction System

         120-day STP forecast (Monday Issuance)

         XE deterministic local forecasts (downloads)

         HEFS probabilistic river forecasts

Gridded observed precipitation estimates viewable at water.noaa.gov

         Gridded weather downloads (netcdf format)

         Runoff Products (table, data, downloads)

Flash flood guidance products (available internally to NWS customers)

Products that will not or are not likely to be undated include:

Water supply and natural volumetric forecasts (all formats)

-- Note: forecasts issued prior to the upgrade will be available; forecast trends are expected to be relatively stable during the downtime

         Peak / minimum flow forecasts

HEFS 10-day graphics available at water.noaa.gov

Long range outlook available at water.noaa.gov

Forecast and observed weather products including the 10-day precipitation graphics,

point downloads, and overlays (with the expectation of netcdf downloads noted above)

Seasonal precipitation and temperature graphics and tables

The outage will be effective on the morning of June 9 and completion is expected by the end of the week. Where possible, missing or degraded products will be repopulated after the upgrade.

We apologize for this unavoidable service outage and appreciate your patience during our upgrade. This document will be updated to reflect any changes.
