Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest and South-Central
Arizona and Southeast California
National Weather Service Phoenix AZ
243 PM MST Fri Aug 21 2026

.DISCUSSION...
Hot and seasonally dry conditions are expected through this
weekend. Aside from a brief increase in moisture Sunday into
Monday, minimum RH values each afternoon will be around 12-18%
(15-25% Sun-Mon). Temperatures will range 5-8 degrees above
normal this weekend, with lower desert highs reaching or eclipsing
110 degrees. There will be slight chances for storms each
afternoon through this weekend, but mostly favoring higher terrain
areas. Outside of thunderstorm outflow winds, winds will follow
the typical diurnal tendencies with some modest afternoon upslope
gustiness.

...Thunderstorms imply gusty winds...
