Fire Weather Planning Forecast for Southwest and South-Central
Arizona and Southeast California
National Weather Service Phoenix AZ
201 PM MST Fri Aug 8 2025

.DISCUSSION...
Temperatures will cool slightly through the weekend but still
remain above normal. Thunderstorms will be relegated to mainly the
higher terrain areas of eastern Arizona with limited chances of
wetting rainfall and enhanced chances of dry lightning and new
fire starts. Minimum afternoon humidity levels will range between
10-20% with fair to good overnight recoveries. Winds will retain
an afternoon upslope component with gusts to 15-20 mph common.

...Thunderstorms imply gusty winds...
