The National Weather Service in Phoenix has extended the

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Maricopa County in south central Arizona...
  Pinal County in southeastern Arizona...

* Until 245 AM MST.

* At 1229 AM MST, gauge reports indicated thunderstorm runoff
  continuing to travel downstream within Vekol Wash. A streamflow
  gauge at I-8 measured a flow of 1100 cfs at 12:10 AM MST and flow
  was declining. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. Flash
  flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms producing
           flash flooding.

  SOURCE...Gauges reported.

  IMPACT...Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
           urban areas, highways, streets and underpasses.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Ak-Chin Indian Community and Freeman.

This includes the following streams and drainages...
  Vekol Wash.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
